Hari Karavá
Silversmithing with love!
My name is Hari Karava and I’m the designer and creator of all the jewellery in the shop.
I live (with my husband) in Thessaloniki, in the north of Greece, where I came to study Geology (a long time ago).
After I got my degree I worked for a year in my field, but then employment in Greece got scarce and I found myself looking for a creative outlet or a new workfield.
When a jewellery seminar came my way, I realised it was exactly what I was looking for. I started out with beads and other trinkets and slowly got into simple metalwork.
I loved it so much that I decided to get silver and goldsmithing classes. I found a wonderful (and skillful) oldschool goldsmith who is still teaching me different techniques and styles of jewellery making. My workspace is in the centre of Thessaloniki, where I spend most of my time, designing and creating my jewellery.
My background in Geology is evident in my love for minerals, gemstones and even simple rocks and pebbles. So, every so often, I try to bring some of this into my jewellery.
I hope you enjoy my creations that I make with loads of love and meraki!
